Purpose
According to the MOU establish the scholarship, it shall be awarded to “a student or students from Maryland in good standing in degree programs in the humanities, sciences, social sciences, education, or business” at any USM institution “who demonstrate financial need, high moral character, motivation and evidence of community involvement and civic responsibility.”
Funding
$500 for the academic year ($250 for fall and $250 for spring)
Renewable for up to four years or eight semesters of full-time undergraduate
study if satisfactory academic progress is maintained
Criteria
Undergraduate, new or returning
Maryland resident
Demonstrated financial need
Not seeking a second bachelor’s degree
Demonstrates “high moral character, motivation and evidence of community
involvement and civic responsibility”
