The Linehan Artist Scholars Program is for talented students serious about pursuing art in a university setting. The program’s collaborative culture challenges and supports artists in pushing boundaries and making significant breakthroughs. The Artist Scholar experience centers on broadening your connection to the arts. Challenging coursework in the Dance, Music, Theatre, and Visual Arts departments prepares you for success in your chosen field, while the Linehan program expands your skills, perspectives, and imagination so that you can succeed in whatever you set out to do as a maker, educator, advocate, or leader in your art.
UMBC provides a strong liberal arts education and is home to a faculty of composers, choreographers, directors, designers, photographers, computer artists, painters, filmmakers, video animators, art historians, and performers who actively engage students in creative and analytical work. A generous gift from Earl and Darielle Linehan supports the Linehan Artist Scholars Program.
