Jodi Mister - Charlotte W. Newcombe Foundation Endowed Scholarship

This need-based scholarship is awarded to students enrolled at UMBC who are at least 25 years of age. Preference will be given to female students who meet the current scholarship eligibility standards of The Charlotte W. Newcombe Foundation. The Jodi Mister – Charlotte W. Newcombe Foundation Endowed Scholarship was established in 2012 by David Mister and The Charlotte W. Newcombe Foundation in memory of Jodi Robyn Mister and Charlotte W. Newcombe.

The goal of the Returning Women Students Scholarship is to support undergraduate students age 25 and older in the completion of their first bachelor’s degree. In addition to financial support offered through several different scholarships, the Returning Women Students Scholarships Program run by the Women’s Center provides a scholars community and various other support services and resources for scholarship recipients.

Awardees will become a part of the Returning Women Student Scholars + Affiliates Program and will be required to meet several requirements throughout the year. These requirements are intended to provide additional academic and personal support to scholars beyond the financial support of the scholarship. Program requirements are outlined on the Women’s Center website: Please review requirements to ensure you are willing and able to participate fully in the program before submitting your application.

The Women’s Center will be hosting Q+A Sessions regarding the scholarship application and the Returning Women Student Scholars + Affiliates Program. Please visit the Women’s Center’s myUMBC events page ( for details.
