Second Generation Scholarship Fund

This scholarship is awarded to outstanding undergraduate students who intend to pursue study at UMBC, have demonstrated a commitment to the advancement of minorities, and meet other specified criteria. Scholarship candidates must be enrolled or have completed a course in Africana Studies and demonstrate a commitment to improving the lives of racial/ethnic minorities through community service, extracurricular activities, or other community involvement.

For the Fall 2024 semester, a minimum $1,500 scholarship will be awarded.

The Second Generation Scholarship Fund was established in June 1987 by the Second Generation Foundation.
